FAQ

Do I need internet, or pay for AI?

No AI fees and no subscription. Captions are made on your iPhone. SayCam needs internet the first time it sets up recognition; after that, filming and captioning work offline. It only goes online again to download another recognition model, or to fetch a video from iCloud.

Are my recordings and videos uploaded?

No. Captions are made on your iPhone, and SayCam does not send your recordings, videos, or captions to any server.

Which iPhone and iOS do I need?

SayCam is an iPhone app and requires iOS 26 or later.

How long can a video be?

Each video can be up to 5 minutes. Videos imported from Photos have the same limit.

What if a caption is wrong?

Edit the words right on the review screen. You can also transcribe again or try another recognition model, and restore the previous captions if you prefer them.

Which languages are supported?

The app comes in 15 languages. Which spoken languages SayCam can recognize depends on your iPhone and the recognition model you pick. We are still checking recognition quality language by language, and you can always correct the captions yourself.

If I delete a record in SayCam, is the video in Photos deleted too?

No. Deleting a record removes only the captions and editing records inside SayCam. If you delete the original from Photos, that project can no longer be edited.
